For this project, we were assigned to pick a renowned designer, research into his career and design work, and generate a branding collateral for a hypothetical exhibition. My designer of choice was Paul Rand.
While looking into Paul Rand's practice, I made note of his constant use of vibrant colors, cut-out aesthetics, stripes within letterforms, bold typography, and use of rebus (use of images to depict words, such as in the IBM logo). After many conceptual explorations, I settled on representing his work with a rebus combination of R + & to spell out his name, Rand.
